Gardiner 24, Howard 8, Lovers not out 66, Ashbolt 8 were the principal contributors, Hawke's Bay tbeu wen tin and made 135 tor ihe loss of six wickntp. At the oall of time this added to Ihs 207 already obtained, made 346, or 14 behind the visitors. The game which naturally was moat exciting towards it3 close was, therefore, declared drawn.
