[Br Eleotp.ic Teleobapit— CorraiGHT.] (Peb Press Association.) London, March 12, The Moderates and Progressives in the London County Council have effected a compromise. Ea„'h trill elect four aldermen, leaving the ninth to arbitration. Tbe choice lies between tho Duke of liorfolk and Sir John Hutton (tbe present chairman). The Moderates nominate the Duke for fer tbe chairmanship, and the Progressives Mr Arthur Arnold, Latbr. Mr Arthur Arnold was elected Chairman of tbe London County Council, Mr Benn, M P., vice, and Mr Dicke;ieon reelected deputy chairman.
