STEAMERS ICEBOUND IN THE
THAMES.
FROZEN TO DEATH IN THE STREETS OF LONDON.
(Per Pbess Association.) London, February 13. Eighteen steamers are icebound on tho Thames.
Funds are being raised in the provinces in aid of workmen who have been thrown out of employment on account of the severe weather.
The Gascoyno broke her shaft, which accounts for her long voyage. Many pedestrians in the streets of London worn so overcome by the cold that they fell exhausted, and were frozan to death.
The coroner in the East End held iflque3ts yesterday, on 19 people who had met death in this way,
