Messrs. Abraham and Williams report : —A large line of steers from up-country together with a few odd lots of local cattle, made up the sale. Young cattle were steady at recent rates. For the bulk of the steers, buyers and vendors' prices were not quite ou the same level, so that a small number only changed hands. Sheep were fairly numerous; second-rate lambs in their wool were without enquiry, other sorts remain much on a par with recent prices, and mostly sold. Douglas', Campbelltown, this month. The entries were good, but the sales on the whole were dull, excepting at Waituna and at Mr. W. Douglas, Campbelltown, where the bidding for dairy cows was exceptionally brisk, bringing various prices from £4 13s 6d to £'J 2d 6d, the majority being over £7. Since then we have held sales at Marton and at Messrs. D. and W. Monson's property, Stanway road. At Marton the sa'e was very dull, and we were only able to quit a few pens of sheep. The articles most imitated are CLEMENTS TONIC and FLETCHER'S PILLS. WHY? BECAUSE they have the best reputation and are most in demand by the public, consequently, every dishonest trader tries to trade on their fame and renown. It is really wonderful that the Australian people arc so slow to see 'the truth as regards the unscrupulous quacks and charlatans who prey on the credulity of the Australian public. Scarcely a week ever passes but what the press exposes the barefaced and shameful practices of some of these harpies, yet, in face of all they seem to thrive, and the paper that hounds them down most thrives fattest on their advertisements and cracks champagne over each balance-sheet. Clements Tonic and Fletcher's Pills have never yet stooped to deception and misrepresentation. They ore scientific therapeutical agents, and evidence as to their value can be found in eveiy district, and such being the case it is unnecessary to further extol their virtues. Lost and.
