The Master and Apprentices Bill, and a bill drafted by J. A. Miller (Dunedin), were jointly considered. Three months' probation wa*-; amended to a month, and a new clause was added making the paying of a premium for apprenticeship prohibited under a penalty of .£SO for each offence.
