Out of 84 associations, however, only 15 were represented at the Conference, though another 15 are known to favour protection. Further communications from Now Australia, Paraguay, state that even tho warmest friends of Lane, the head of the movement, admit that his administration is a failure. Sydney, March 28. The Magistrate at the Wyalong goldfields wires to the Government that the field is overdone by thousands. There aro now ten thousand people on tho field, which at present ein only support 1,500, and people are arriving at the rate of a thousand daily.
