The weather was dull, but fine, and the attendance poor; The sum passed through the " tote " was £6982, making a total of £12,871 for the meeting. Lady Zetland was the first to break the line, but Melinite immediately ran through, and was in command as they swept past Cufcts', with Stepniak next, Ultimatum, Lady Zetland, and An Hevoir following in the order named, and Prime Warden last. Melinite was still in command as they commenced to go down the back stretch, with Ultimatum second, but as they ran past the kennels Au Berpir went throaerh, and took second position, and Prime "Warden commenced to move up. Melinite was still in front at the top turn, with Au Kevoir still second, Prime Warden third, and Ultimatum and Stepniak following. Once in the straight An Bevoir and Prime Warden passed Melinite, and Stepniak, followed by Lady Zetland, commenced to close up. At the distance Prime Warden had drawn clear of Au .Bevoir, bufc Lady Zetland, coming with a strong run, caught the leader ia the last 50 yards, and won easily by a neck from Prime Warden, with Stepniak, three lengths away, third. Time, 2min 38}seo. Dividends, £10 7s and £13 Is. Second Ciuujsngb Stakss, of 2000 sow; 7 furlongs. Bluefire; 6»t 121 b 1 Golden Fleece, 6afc 41b 2 Saricen, 9st 3 Ben Godfrey, Beflector, Barnardo, Philson, Britomarte, Casket, and Teredirm also ran. Barnardo was quickest away. Philson soon went to the head of affairs, with Golden Fleece close up, and thi3 order was maintained to the straight, with Casket and Bluefire coming fast, the latter winning by two lengths from Golden Fleece.
