ANNIVERSARY DAY.
» (Pjsr Pbees Association). Wellington, January 22, The anniversary of the Wellington province was celebrated to-day in magnificent weathei, which, if anything, was rathor hot. The principal attractions were the first day's racing of the Wellington Kacing Club's Summer Meeting and the Tort Nicholson Yacht Club annual regatta, while the early trains were crowded with excursionists and picnic puties. There was a fresh breeze for the regatta, but the attendance of tho public was not up to that of previous years. The first-class yacht race was won by the Mantana, with Kona second and Isca third. Ihe Auckland Yacbt, Qlorina, won the race for second-class yachts with plenty to spare, the Malrina second, and the Pot third. Tho third class yacht race was won by Greyhound, and the handl cap race by Girola.
