A dreadful tragedy, resulting in the murder of threo persons and the suicide of the murderer, was perpetrated in London last night. A jeweller's shop was entered by a burglar, whose movements in tho promises awakened the occupants. The woman who owned the business, and who resided on the promises, interfered and was shot dead by the intruder. A shopman and a grandson of the owner of Ihe place were afterwards shot by the burglar, who then finished his crim9 by blowing his own brains out. London, January 8. The inquest on the circumstances surrounding tho murder of three persons in a joweller'B shop in London by a burglar, who subsequently committed suicide, was held to-day. Evidence was given to the effect that the burglar broke into the shop, and the proprietress being roused she waif shot dead by the robber as soon as she made her appearance. The shopman and the grandson of the owner were also killed, and the burglar thenb'.ew his own bruins out. A most extraordinary piece of evidence was given at the inquest by one witness. This porson testified that an offer was made to the police to sell them the news of the|impending burglary before it took place, but the police declined to buy the information, and in consequence the terrible tragedy took place. Verdicts in accordance with the evidence were returned.
