WANGANUI v. RAILWAY.
The Wanganui C ,C. me/; tho Railway G.C. on Victoria Park on Saturday, and a pleasanl game rosultod in Bpite of the long grass which surrounded (.he pitch. Wanganui winning the toss, took first innings and put up a score of 79, to which J. Marshall contributed 24, D'Arcy 15, and H. B. Cave 10. The Railways went ia with an hour and a half left for piny and the fir6t four or fiva men played very carefully, but the latter batsmen going in for hitting tho innings ended with the score at 39. The Wanganuis thus won by 40 runs. Tho Wanganui fielding was up to the standard of the last few matches, and is certainly tho bost feature of thoir play just now.
