FRANCE AND RUSSIA.

The Mayor has forbidden cries hostile to other nations. The Bussian warships were received with unexampled ci thusiasm on their j arrived at Toulon. "One hundred thousand flags and rail"s of scurlot were displayed, and a succession of feteß held. The officers were almost mobbed by the crowd in their enthusiasm. October 14. Admiral Avelon, in command of the Bussian fleet, said, in replying to the wel comp accorded the fleet in Toulon, that thl entire Russian people would be gratefufor the enthusiasm which had been dis played. There were frantic shouts of " Vive, Russia . " The Bussian admiral was deeply moved, and cried " Vive, France !" The bands played the Russinn hymn. The Russian fleet were flying the French colours. At a banquet given in honour of the visit, Admiral Biennier, Minister of Marine, said that the Czar's name in the eyes of the world was a symbol of peace, and he hoped that (he fraternity in arms between the two nations would ever exist.
