LONDON MARKET REPORT.
liOndon, October 7. From John Holmes and Co.. Wellington and Blenheim. Wool. — The market has remained steady since our last report, but without any quotable change in values. An occasional slight advance is perceptible in good combing merino, both greasy and scoured, but merino grease, up to 7d; and all fa ul ty description?, w h iob pi oponderate, v show a weaker tendency, and are very slow of salo. Crossbred wools are in better demand, and prices have improved somewhat on those ruling during the earlier part of the series The quantity offered to date is 273,039 bales, of which 24,436 bales or 895 per cent have been bought in. Tallow. — The demand for beef was dull at to-day's sale and prices declined 3d per cwt. Mutton on the other hand was wanted, and last week's prices to 3d advance were obtained. John Holmes aDd Co.
