KAITOKE ROAD BOARD.

Tlio usual monthly meeting cf -the above Board was held yesterday. Messrs Marshall ('"'hairman), Blyth, Fletcher, Garner, and Hughes were present. Minutes.— The minutes of the last monthly meeting were read and confirmed. Culverts.— The Secretary was instructedto write Messis Low andiarshall requesting them to pat culverts iv their private roads as suggested in the Foreman's report. Repairs to Roads It was resolved that the Clerk should inquire from the surfaceman the amount of work done on the roads owned by the Counoil and Board, and that the Council be asked to pay half tha cost. __ Concord LiNE.-~lt was resolved that the necessary repairs to the culverts oh the Concord Line should be made. General Bate.— The Clerk was instructed to apply fco the Wanganai County Council for the delegation of power to collect a general rate. Ptmkf Road.— The Chairman and Mr .Hughes were appointed a Committee to inspect and reptrt on the road between the Bridge and the Kaiate Stream in the JPutiki direction, and to consult a qualified ma'jf on the matter. -Cotjntt Overdraft.— The .accounts between the Council and the Board were read, and the Chairman intimated that he would look into the question of th'eCoun , oil's right to charge, as they had done, a, pioportion of the interest on their overdraft against the Board, when the latter was in funds, and that he would also have an audit made by the AuditorGeneral. Paure-take Road.— Mr Ewen Crnni,. bell waited on the Boaid as to fencing this road, and stated that the Council had admitted their responsibility, while the road was under their control. Thematter was left in the hands of the Chairman. Eastebk Line.— lt was resolved that the Board should have the Eastern Line inspected, and also confer with Mr Moore respecting the work referred to in Mr Boss' repoit. , Mahybank Boad.— Mr Hnghes baring moved that the Board should take over the Marybaak Road, the motion was dig. cussed at length by the members and ultimately withdrawn by Mi Hughes. ' Accounts — Accounts amounting . to. .£lB 7a 6d were passed for payment. The Counoil then adjournod.
