Two thousand tons of Gorman coal bare arrived for the London South Metropolitan Gasworks. Mr T. Burt, M.P., Secretary of the Northumberland Miners' Association, has appealed to the Northumberland miners to support the Durham miners. The enginoors in South Wales and Monmouthshire have given notice of their intention tcrgo out on strike in order to" resist a proposed reduction of their wages. Their action will involvo 70,000 miners. Sydney, March 30. A new departure is about to be inaugurated in connection with next season's shearing- Instead of individual stations engaging mon, the bulk of the stationholders have decided to allow the Pastoralists' Union to engage them. ■Wellington, March 31. Mr Hall expects to be able . to resume a fnll tramway service to-morrow or Monday at the latest. He has received numbers of applications to fill the Tacancieß, but is selecting only reliable mon. The strikers do not intend to give way.
