Lomax, and C. Burnett, Secretary and Treasurer. The Government having offered a subsidy of pound for pound on subscriptions up to J3IOO tor the purpose of erecting a Monument in the pomain, Wanganui, to the memory of the soldiers buried in or near Wanganui during the late wars with the natives, the Committee ask for subscriptions in furtherance of this object. A list of the names and other particulars may be seen, as it is propoted that they should appear on the Monument, in the lobby of the Public Library, where a book is also kept to record any suggestions that may be made by anyone on the subject, more especially as to additions and necessary alterations. The following havo been received, and further subscriptions may be paid to any of the Committee, or to Mr Burnett, T?idgway-streot, next Messrs Cummins, Shai'pe, and Co.'s store, Shilling subscriptions collected in 1880, after deducting expenses, J331.
