Dick Swiveller won a big race at Moonoe on Saturday, which has brought him into favour for the Caulfield Cup, where he carries Sst. £3000 to £150 has be.on taken about his chnnce, but putside this there is little betting. No work was done this morning at Meinington. The traoks are in splendid order, and good work may be looked for to-morrow. Sydney, October 1. Arrived—Haurotp.. • Carbine • was landed in excellent condition. The Nun, her owner, and the jockey have been disqualified during the pleasure of the club for suspicious running in the Sydney Handicap on Thursday. (Beceived October 1, 10 p.m.) In consequence of rumours to the effect that Mentor is an unlikely starter for the Caulfield Cup, a disposition is being evinced to knock him out of the betting. Several 100's to 1 were offered and accepted about him to-day. ; • Waterman has been scratched for both Cups.
