GARRISON BAND ENTERTAINMENT COMMITTEE.
« A meeting of the General Band Committee for the Garrison Bandentertainments was held last night in the Drill Hall. Present—Messrs Drew (in the chair), BrigadeSurgeon Tripe, Hon. Major Purnell, Captains Clapham, Borlase, and Thain, Lieuts. Nicholls, Foster, Holden, and Neill, Sergt.Major, McMillan, Quartermaster-Sergeant Turner, Messrs Cremer, Ayes, and Mountord.. Minutes. — The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. Accounts — The accounts for the late ooncert were passed for payment. Abt Union Committee. —The committee reported that Mr Sherriff's picture, "The Monarch of the Glen," had been purchased for the first prize. The canvassing committees reported that more prizes had been •reoeived. The names of Major Naill, SergtMajor M'jMillan, and Quartermaster-Sorgt. Turner were added to the canvassing committee. Insurance of Phizes.— lt was deoided to insure the art union prizes for £100.; Ball Committee. — It was resolved that arrangements for catering bo left in the hands of Captain Clapham. Several other matters of detail were also arranged. Capt. Thain was appointed to the care of the ticket office, assisted by numbers of the Wauganui Rifles as door-keepers. The Committee then waited on the members of the Band asking them to provide the music for the dances. Tho meeting then adjourned.
