HOW TO MAKE A FLORIST'S BOUQUET.
Several minor details go towards making an effective and non- wasteful bouquet. The modus gperandi is as follows : — Tuko a pair of shears, some rusher, lOin to 12in in length, a handful of tox-edging, and several piece* of non-elastic iron wjre, of about Sin Ion;, and as tbin at horsehair. Then tie the box firmly round with twite, and out it into the shape of a circular foundation with the shear*. Attach 'the wire dexterously to eaoh flower, whioh hays be ,n out off with short stems, and without an/ buds to prevent unnecessary waste, and insert the ends of tbe xuahe> into the circular box foundation. Piace in the omtre of the bouquet a fine open rose, tuch as a Gioire de Dijon, surround it with helioiropes, then place fl'iwera "celestial, rosy zed, Lore* proper hue," after wards add yellow, whioh has been called the soul of flowers, tone with variegated pelargoniums, ' and sutround with fragile, stir-like gypsophilus. shorten the iush stems to a eonvoment length, and insert the bouquet into a holder, or surround it with fringed or laced fancy papar. A finishing touch may be given by the addition of: a bbrder of fuchsiiß, or other drooping flowera, A skilfully designed bouq.net may serve a love messenger, a dreUration, a pesos offering, or an eloquent interchange of friends 1 In view of the uncertainty which attacheto the continuance of the Volunteer movo.ment, we would strongly recommend members of the various corps to aval themselves of the present opportunity of being photographed in UDiform.
