FAUST DAY, PER UNITBD PBBBS ASSOCIATION. New Plymouth, April 12. The weather was not all that oould be desired, several showers falling daring the day. The attendanoe was fair, and the racing good. A large amount passed through the totalisator. More than usual interest waß taken in tha races on aocount of the new oourse and the new Grand Stand. The following are the results : — Handicap Httbblbs. Blue Bell i Armourer \ §ti 2 Only two horses started. Blue Bell immediately want to the front," and led at the first hurdle by three lengths, which she increased to doable that dißtanoe when the hurdle in front of the 9raod Stand was reaohed, and from thence she maintained the lead to the finish, winning by two lengths. Time, 4mia ll^aec. Dividend, £1 6s. HACK HUBDLBS. Oorsa'r... 1 Oddfellow ... ..., 2 Iyo 8 Three others started. Ooraair and Oddfellow raoed together the whole way, the others boing out of it from the start- Oorsair won by half a length. Time, 2min Bseo. Dividend, £6 Is. Maiden Plate. Wanda 1 Escapade ... ... 2 Jenny. •... ,-. ... , 3 Peter and Jetsou also ran. Eaoapa'de went to the front, Wanda running soooad. Escapade here ran off, but was afterwards got on tht traok, and suo-" oeoded in talcing seoond plae'e. Wanda won easily. Time, 2min 51 l-6thFio. Dividend, £5 15s. Novel Baoe. Merlin \ 1 Mermaid , • 2 Jeteon ' 3 This race was between Mermaid and Merlin, the latter winning by • l«ngth. Dividend, £2 2s. T.J.O. Handicap. Temora 1 Dudu ,".. ' ... ... - ' 2 Silence ig Tongariro also started. Temora went away with the lead, and was never collared. Dudu ran a good ssoond, with Silenoe, well np, third. The heavy weight Silenoe oarried l9at 51b) told agaiuat him in the second lap; Tongariro pulled up lame. Time, 3oiin 44|sbc. Dividend, 3s, ' Flyinu Handicap. ■ Cinderella 1 I Beolriae... ;.. •„. 2 Rufus .' ... 3 Hagar led for some dittanoe, and then fell back.
