TO THE EDITOR. Sir, — I am rather astonished that you have not taken auy notice of the rather good story told of some Brummagem yokels during the recent elections in England. "Jo " had lived for some years upon an American whaler, and returned to old England to see his people. He was not entitled to a vote, being an American subject, . and only just landed on English «oi ! , but he was more than a ruttch for poor, dull, thickheaded Johnny Raw, and buttonhole A several well-to-do but iguoran I'electors, and assumed them that he did not care to work his three acres or profit by his cow, ?ih ho intended to emigrate to New Zealand, an:l uo would sell bis three acres and cow (which same three acres always adjoined that chosen by his dupes) for a mei\ i song, say *!10 for the lot, and so, by having no 1e33 than ten Johnny Raws (who had borrowed the money from their lladical friends before recording their votes) Yankeo Jo walked off* with ,£IOO in his pockets, and may ' o ex- J poctod again in some other part of j Great Ihitain by next elections, — I am, &0-, YANKEE Jo'ft itRQTiIJiK.
