February 17t Mr Service has tendered his resignation to the Governor. Mr Gillies has undertaken tha formation of a Ministry. The following members are certain to be included in tha new Cabinet:— Mr Gillies, Premier aad Colonial Treasurer ; Mr Deaki i, Chief Secretary ; Me Wrixton, Attorney^Gtenoral ; Mr Peareon, Minister of Education ; Mr Dow, Minister of Lands. A hundred labourers, employed by the Melbourne Oity Corporation, "have struck for a reduction in wo-.k to eight hours per diem.
