He's always for conciliation aud compromise, and wrapping things up iv five phrasss, bufc he can't stand up against hard hittiug ! Fisher's pretty gtmfcia vyith him, too ! But he wili have the truth out, slap bang I Ah, that's what stumps Togel ! Do you think Yogel will reply to . Fisher ? Not he, bless you ! He knows when he's had enough gruel! He'll wait until he makes his speeqh at Auckland, where he's guaranteed against opposition, and then, very likely, he'll give Fisher a dig .under the fifth rib w xsa he has no ohanoe of hitting back ! Bather a Bneaky way of doing it ! Oh, but you must make a good deal of allowance for a chap in his position ! You always amuse me, boss! You speak of Yogel in such a pitying tone ! Well, I do pity the poor beggar sincerely ! He gets himself into such holy messes! And altogether, he's such a comical figure in public affairs ! These letters and interviews and mani* festos and speeches of his are such inn I He never opens his mouth but he puts his foot in it ! What'll hn the result of all thus fuss about the Government Insurance ? _ Oh, they'll amend the bill next session, as sure as fate ! Abolish the political element, eh! Yes, perhaps leave an official or two, but ihafc'a all !
