February 16. The Botorua left Manakau for southern ports with the following passengers :— Darrel's troupe, Messrs Perm, Hart, J. Meeson, 3. Outhberfc, Malcolm, Glover, Beys. Pafcerson, Kempthorne, Moncur, Dawson, Hon. J. B. Acland, Messrs Robb, Mendelson, Turnbull, Salmon, Brown, Mules, Stock, Bay, Mesdamea Brookes, Hooker, Puckey, Fry, Bobs, Q-ordon and two children, Honour, Kempthorne, Misses Jones, Simpson, and two steerage. The Police Oourt has been occupied for two days in hearing; the case for the prosecution against Mary Ann Smith, a boardinghouse-keeper, and Eobert Henry Keenan, an expressman, for robbing Fred. Smallwood, a settler of Hokianga, of £Qo.
