JUNO DRAMATIC COMPANY.

There was a very meagre attendance at the Theatre last evening to see "Queen's Evidence." This however, did not damp the spirits of the performers, who one and all acquitted themselves with great credit. Mr 0. H. Taylor imd quite a Burprise in store as the Jew Isaacs, a character as widely different as the poles from those he has previously appeared in. Still he was quite at home in it, hitting off the characteristics and peculiarities of the Israelifeish sharper to a nicety. In emotional parts Miss Juno is always seen to advantage, and she endowed the oharaoter of Kate Modland with all the tenderness and feeling that could possibly be concen* trated in a character where love is the ruling passiou. Mr Forbes, as Matthew Thornton, made a superb villain, his acting being at times so real aa to cause the audience to groan. Miss Carring" ton gave a true representation of Ada Sydney, and Mr Munn played Gilbert Medland with a quiet force and energy suitable to the part. Miss Hill made a charming Laura, and the by no means minor character of Arthur was cleverly represented by Miss Hattie Hayes. To*night,for the first time in Wanganui, "Jo" will be presented, and all those who have heard of Jenny Lee's wonders , fui success in it, will doubtless seize the chance of seeing it. Miss Juno, as Lady Deadlock, played in the Theatre Koyal, Melbourue, with Jennie Lee for a number of weeks,securing great praise both from the press and the publio and as she made a particular study of the part a great treat should- be anticipated, Mies Oarrington will take the character i of "Jo." . ;
