(PER UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION ) "Wellington, Feb. 16. The report and balance sheet of the Wellington Aleat Preserving and Lie* frigerating Company for the year do not show eneouragiug prospects. The balance-sheets show a loss of £8921 on the year's working, and in the repoifc the directors attribute this unfavourable state of things chiefly to the low ruling prices for tallow and wool, and excessive competition in the retail butchers ing business.
