AN ALARMING DISEASEAFFLICTING A NUMEROUS GLASS.

The disease commences with a sligW derangement of the stomach, but, ii neglected, it in time involye9 the whole frame, embracing the kidneys, liver, pancreas, and in fact, the entire glandilai gystom, aud the afflcted drags out a miserable existence until death givea relief from- suffering. The disease ia often mistafrcsjvior other complaints ; but if the reader v.;;li ask himself the following questions, he'will be üblo to determine whether he himself is one of the afflicted ;— Have 1 distress, pan or difficulty iv breathing after eating 1 Is there a dull, heavy feeling attended by drousinsss ? Havo the eyes a yellow tinge? Docs a thick, stickey mucous gather about the gums and teoih in the mornings, accompanied by a disagreeable taste? Is the tonguo coated? Is there pains ia the side and back ? Is there a fulness about the right side as if the liver was enlarging ? Is there oostiveness ? s there vertigo or dizziness when risiujj suddenly from a horizontal position ? Are the secretions from the kidneys scanty and highly coloured, with a deposit after standng ? Does food ferment soon after eating, accompanied by flatulence or a belching of ■ gas from the stomach ? Is there frequent palpitation of the heart ? These various aymptoms may not be present at one time but they torment the 'sufferer in turn as the dreadful disease progresses. If the case be one of long standing, there will be a dry, hacking cough, attended after a time by expectoration. In very advanced Btages the skin assumes a dirty brownish appearance, aud the hands aud feet are covered by a cold, sticky perspiration. A-s the lives and kidneys become more and more diseased, rheumatic pains appear, and tho usaal treatment prove;* entirely unavailing against this latter agonising disorder. The origin of this malady is indigestion or dyspepsia, and a small quantity of the proper medicine will remove the disease if taken iv its incipiency. It is most important that the disease should be promptly »nd properly treated in its first stagea, when a little medicine vill effect a cure, and even when it bas obtained a strong hold the correct remedy should be perseverea in until every ve3tzge of the disease Is •radicated, until the appetite has returned and the digestive organs restored tc a healthy condition. The surest iad troat effectual remedy for this distressing •omplaint is "Seigela Curativo Syrup," a vegetable preparation sold by all Chemists and Medicine Vendors throughout the world, and by the proprietors, A. J. White Limited, 17, Farringdon Koad, London, E.O. or the wholesale agents, Kempthorne, Prosser & Co.'s New Zealand Drug Co. (Limited), Dunediu, Christchurch, Wellington, and Auckland.
