DIOCESAN SYNOD.

Auckland, February 13, At the General Synod yesterday the sessional committee, on the reports of the trustees, reported as follows on the application received from the parish of Ail Saints,Dunedin:— " Eesolved that as the land that the General Synod are asked to transfer to the trustees to hold as a site for a cathedral is by tru3t dead held for a church site until it shall no longer be required for the purpose aforesaid, and as the committee have before th&m not sufficient proof that the said land is ' no longer required for the said purpose,' they are not able to recommend the Synod to authorise the trustees to make the transfer that is desired." Bishop Neville has given notice of motion for Monday for the addition of the following words, "But they are of opinion if the parishioners and Diocesan Synod wish to use the existing building for the purposas of a cathedral the terms of the trust deed offer no obstacle in law to their doing so." L&TBR. In the Hynod, the Primate requested the Bishop of Nelson to visit the Pacific Islands if the Bishop of Newcastle could not.
