PIGEON SHOOTING.
An interesting pigeon, shooting match took place at ( Maxwelltown on Monday last. The attendance was not very large. It was expected a greater number of visitors would have attended- -from Wanganui. The shooting was fair, but that of Mr G. Morse exceptionally good, he not mißsing a bird. It is intended by the promoters to arrange for another match shortly, which will be notified to the public, in due course. The following are the scores : — First Match, 21 yards rise. —Mr Tymon, 8 birds ; Mr G. Morse, 10; Mr S. Handley, retired, 0; Mr J. Handler, retired, 0 ; Mr H. Morse, 3. Second Match ( Handicap). —Mr Tymon, hp 1, 1 ; Mr G. Morse, hp 0, 6 ; Mr S. Handley, hp 3, 4 ; Mr J. Handley, bp 3, 3 ; Mr H. Morse, hp 2, 4. In thxa oontest there was a tie between Messrs S. Handley and H. Morse, which resulted in Mr H. Morse killing both birds first barrel. Third Match (Handicap). — Mr G. Morse, lip 0, G ; Mi- S. Handley, hp 3, 7; M. J. Haudley, bp 3, 7; Mr 11, Morse, bp 2, 8.
