An uninsured stack of oats belonging to Mr S. Adams, of Hampden, has been destroyed by fire. It is now raining beavily, and there is every prospect of a flood. DTJNEDIN. April 30. At the inquest on the child burned at Port Chalmers on Friday the jury found a verdict of accidental death, adding that its life could have been saved had tho mother been sober. The steamer Penstanton -will begin loading here with a frozen muttoa cargo to-morrow or Wednesday.
