PROGRAMME : 1. — Maiden Plate, £50; entrance £3 ; weight for age ; 1£ miles ; open to all horses that have never won public money prior to date of entry ; any horse entered for Maiden Plate winning an advertised race between the time of entry and date of race to carry a penalty of slbs. To start at 12 o'clock. 2. — Handicap Hubdle Race, £50 ; 2 miles and a distance ; over 8 flights of hurdles, 3ft 9in high ; top weight not to exceed 12 stone, and lowest not to be under 9 stone. Nomination £2, to go to the fund ; acceptance, £3, to be added to the stakes. To start at 1 o'clock. 3.— Hack Hurdle Race, £10; once round and a distance ; post entries ; entrance, £1, to be added ; weight to be not under 9 stone ; open to all horses that have never won an advertised race, hack races excepted ; jockeys to ride in colours. To start at 1.30 p.m. 4.— Wanganui Stakes Handicap £150; second horse to receive £20 out of stakes, third horse to save his stakes ; 2 miles and a distance ; nomination, £2 ; acceptance, £3 ; top weight not to exceed 10 stone. To start at 2.30 p.m. s.— Railway Plate, £50; 1J miles; weight for age ; entrance, £3. Nominations for W.S.H. and Hurdles close at the Pier Hotel on Septembei 23rd at 9 p.m. Weights to be declarec on October sth. Acceptances and general entries close at the Pier Hote. on October 10th, at 9 p.m. No entry will be received for anj races except upon this condition — thai all disputes, claims, and objection; arising out of the racing, shall be decided by a majority of the Steward; present, or those whom they may appoint Their decision upon all points connectec with the carrying out of this programme shall be final. All entries to be sealed and addressee to the Hon. Secretary, Wanganui entrance money enclosed, with the name age Ht time ot entry, pedigree, and ii case of handicaps, performances of the liorae, name of the owner, and colours o the rider. Any jockey riding except ii the colours entered will be fined I soys. When tyro or more horses start, the property of the same owner, a dis tinguishing colour must be worn. All persons intending to withdraw horses, are required to give notice tc that effect to the Secretary or Clerk ol the Scales one half-hour before starting. Any person neglecting or refusing tc < omply with this rule shall pay a &at of 5 sovH to the race fund. all entries should be made on the Club's printed foims of entry, which may \bo obtained at the office of the Hon. Secretary. All races to be run under the W.J.C. Rules. Horses walking over will only receive half the stakes. Annual qualification fee, £'i for nonjnembers. for one meeting £2. Second horse to save its stakes in all races except where otherwise specißed. No entries or nominations will be received under any pretence whatever after the time specified for closing.
