LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL.
July 22. In the Council to-day, Mr Whitaker promised Mr Nurse an inquiry into the accident on the Invercargill railway on Saturday last. — The Banks and Bankers Bill and Eegulation of Elections Bill were j read a third time and passed. — The: Adoption of Children Bill and Licensing j Bill were read a second time. — The Inspection of Machinery Bill was passed through Committee, and progress reported in the Damage Bill.^ — The Council rose at 5 o'clock.
