CHRISTCHURCH.
July 21. The weather has affected the markets. There is nothing new worth quoting. The sou-- wester still continues, and has been raging again all day, though not quite so violently. The following rainfall has been registered :—July 18—o*lo inches; 19th—0-15 inches; 20th—1*50 inches ; 21st - 0*72 inches. A total up to 9 o'clock this morning of 2£ inches. Great complaints have been made about not running trains on the Waipawa extension which has been finished for a year. It is broadly hinted that trains are, however, seen when one of the big landholders want them.
