July 21. The steamer Wakatu, which is ashore at Patea, is not much damaged, and it is expected that she will be floated this evening at 5 o'clock. One of the blades of her propeller is broken. At the Supreme Court, this afternoon, Whitelaw was found guilty of ill-treat-ing a patient, and the Judge inflicted a fine of ,£so,'or six weeks' imprisonment. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency report, under date of London, 19th July: —The wool market is unchanged. Up to date 327,000 bales have arrived. The wheat market is quiet. The weather is favourable for Home crop. Adelaide is worth 48s 6d, and New Zealand, 47s 6d per 4961b5. The tallow market is easier, stocks being heavy ; best mutton is worth £3G, and best beef £34 per ton. Leather market firm ; best sides are worth ll^d.
