February 28. A mill is to be started at Aniberley to prepare flax for exportation to Australia. A petition for opening the public library on Sundays is being very largely signed by leading citizens and others. Mr Weston of Christchurch, and Messrs Allan and Holmes of Dunedin, have been appointed examiners in law of candidates for admission to the Bar of New Zealand. The first examination will be at the end of March.
