Cook's Gardens.— We notice that the Borough Council have caused a number of benches to be erected in this favourite place of resort, and hare also laid on the water at twp drinking stands. A little judicious planting of rapid-grow-ing trees would make Cook's Gardens a very beautiful spot. In other towns young children are not allowed access to parks and public gardens unless aocompan;ed by grown up persons in charge of them, and the restriction should be put in force here. Yesterday we noticed at least thirty very small boys and girls on various parts of the slopes. The few young trees already planted will inevitably suffer.
