WELLINGTON.
Feb 14. GOVERNOR'S LEVKK An undress levee will be held at Government House to-morrow, after which the Governor will receive addresses from the City Couucil and Working Men's Club. His Excellency and suite leave on Monday per Ritigarooina. IMPURE WATER SUPPLY. In consequence of the impure state of of the water supply, the distributing basin was drawn off this morning, and a deposit of six inches thick of foul, slimy mud was found at the bottom, and a number of medium sized eels. The basin was found in excellent condition. In order to cleau the basin the supply of water to the city has been cut off for to-day, In the new reservoir there is 47 feet of water, or two manth's supply without rain. The Drapers' aud Clothiers' Assqcia- , tion intend to move for shorter hours on Saturday by appealing to the public to shop earlier. Plasterers are taking steps to form a trade society. WANGaNUI HARBOUR BOARD. David Lundon has been Gazetted a member of the Wanganui Harbour Board. :. The Governor and suit arrived this ' morning from the South.
