BREAKWATER.
Owing to the high sea running, which shows the impracticability of erecting a breakwater at the proposed site of the j town, a preliminary meeting was held last night to form a company to build a breakwater at N >pier, several m Tchants and residents beiug present, rebolved that so soon as full information is obtained' the prospectus is to be issued. VV. Cooper, one of the oldest Wellington settlers, died yesterday, aged 78. He is brother iu-law to Mr Waring Taylor.
