FEARFUL HURRICANE OFF THE MAGDALEN ISLANDS.

Recently, intelligence was received in Livverpool, of a torriffic huricano which entirely swept over the Magdalen Islands almost continuously from the 26th up to the 30th ultimo, causing an unprecedented number of shipwrecks and a sad loss of lifo. The news from the islands comes by way of Pictcn, nnd is to tho efftctthnt from the 20Mi to the 21st, and i gain from tho 26th to the 30th tilt , the woathnr was very tempestuous, the wind blowing a hurricano almost the whole time from the north-west, causing great damageboth at sea and on land. At Etangdu Nord, 20 vessels arc reported to have been driven ashore and wreckdd, two being knocked to pieces — namely, the Kohi-i-Nooi and John Poarfon, and the crews are supposed to have perished, as no trace of thorn has boon seen finoo the vessels wore cast ashore. Several othi.r veaso's were either conipolled to cut or slip their cables and run to leeward for shelter. The American barque Locoz, lyinj? at anchor off Entry Island, was caught in the gale of the 28th ult., and several of tho crew were washed overboard and drowned. Tho barque Rowona, of Glasgow, was drivm ashoro on a reef near the South- West Point, and became a total wreck, and the crew, after being 38 hours in their boats, wore rescued by the schooner Typhoon, whicli was subsequently driven ashore on a reef near Entry Island, and broke up, the two crews fonunately escaping. Immense quantities of wreckage have been washed ashore on the islands, and amongst tho wreckages were several cibin doors and other saloon furniture, tho woods being light maple mahogany, with gold bordering?, evidently belonging to some Bteiimers wrecked during the tempest. Several bodies were also found amongst tho wreckage.
