WELLINGTON.
June 15. Sailed— Stormbird, for Wanganui, with a full cargo of transhipments from the Hindustan, from London. .Passengers— Messrs Anderson, Signal, D. Grey, and Dr Donaldson. The Licensing Bench to-day refused to grant licenses to three new hotels, under sub-section 5 of clause 21, of the Licensing Act 1873 Amendment Act, 1874, because the houses were not in existence, although the plans were handed in and the houses guaranteed to be erected. The ' Evening Post ' says it learns that the Hon. Major Atkinson will deliver the Financial Statement during the coming session.
