The stallion "Wallace," from Dunedin, arrived per Taranaki. Mr Pell, owner, intends taking him to Wanganui. The Hon. Mr and Mrs Fox leave Jfor Auckland to-day. They proceed to California per Mikado. Arrived, at noon— Manawatu, from ganuiTenders advertised to-night for additions to the Wellington gaol of 20 new cells and rooms. J. McKeuzie's tender accepted for the Union Bank of Australia. The total cost will be about £5,000 ; material, timber. The banking room will be nearly 40 feet square.

The plans of the new Provincial Hospital are now beiug prepared. The new buildings will cos. about £25,000 ; will be 220 feet long, and extend over 600 square feet, including detached wards for fever and infectious diseases. The material will be brick.

The new General Government buildings are proceeding vigorously. A large number of piles arc already driven. New buildings will contain 200 rooms, aud 150 fire-places. The material will be timber. The cost will be about £40,000.

Sailed— Onward for Wanganui with 240 packages of merchandise transhipped nnder bond ex Ardentinny from London ; and 40 packages ex Onward, from Lyttleton, transhipped from the Waimate from Loudon.
