May 7. Mr Gillon editor of the * Evening Post ' was last night given a testimonial, dinner, and purse of sovereigns by the publicans of Thorndon, in recognition of his journalistic services. Mr Andtew ? s motion is expected to be again postponed to-night. The ' Golden Sea ' immigrants will be released to-morrow, and the vessel admitted ito pratique. Those for Wanganui will be shipped direct from the Island on Satui* day. Those for Foxton on Tuesday. The return for the passenger traffic on the Hutt Railway from 14th April :to 30th inclusive is £301.
