The s.s. Storm Bird arrived yesterday morning from Wellington on her first trip after having a thorough, overhaul. She has beenjpainted throughout, and the inside of the bulwarks grained from stem to stren. The greatest improvement has been made in the saloon, where the cupboard formerly known as the ladies cabin'has oeen removed, and a very noat little apartment in the after part of the vessel fitted up for the accommodation of ladies with the addition of a stewardess, $he "want which was a great drawback to their travelling in the steamer. Altogether the accommodation of the Storm Bird is very much improved. - The p.s. Manawatti has been sent to the petent slip for an overhaul. She will come off on Saturday and take the place of the Rangatira in tlie weekly Napier trip. On her return she will resume the West Coast trade. The Eangatira will go on the slip on Saturday, for an overhanl, and to receive soms alterations which are expected greatly to imprrve her speed. She will not be laid up more than a week, -' Post' April 29.
