March 16. Governor left for Tanpo at 6 a.m. today. Cavalry,- second match, fired this morning. Weather beautiful. Camp service held yesterday. Three prizes. 400 and 500, yards. Waiuku — Rogers, 4242233—4243303—39. Earigitikei— Marshall, 3432333—0442440— 39. Rangitikei — Henderson, 2333334 — 4204322—38. Rodgers having made the best score at the long range, took first prize, £6 ; Marshall, second, £± ; Henderson, third, £3. First range of Infantry match, 400, 500, and 600 yards, just finished, Cameron, Auckland, and Coleman, Waikato, 26; Hamlin, Waiuku, 25. In the Cavalry match this morning, Danvers fired once at wrong target. ' Rangatira ' arrived early.
