Gentlemen,-— a want must have been long felt by the residents of these rapidly rising districts of a journal to represent their interests, and which, while expressing their views, should also serve as a means of recording all events of local importance. Knowing this to be the case, having been a resident here some time, I have determined to supply this want in the shape of a weekly publication to bo devoted to these districts ; and for this purpose, in order to ascertain the amount of support I might reasonably expect, I would like to see as many gentlemen present as possible at a meeting to be held (with the permission of the master) at the School-house, Turakina, on THURSDAY NEXT, June 21st, at seven o’clock, when I will lay before them a statement of what I purpose doing, and hope then to elicit their approbation. Regretting being unable to personally canvass the districts, and trusting I shall see a good attendance, I remain, Gentlemen, Yours obediently, A. D, WILLIS. June 16, 1866.
