TO THE SETTLERS OF TURAKINA, RANGITIKEI, &c. Gentlemen, —a want must Lav© been long felt by the residents of these rapidly rising districts of a journal to represent their interests, and which, while expressing their views, should also serve as a means of recording all events of local importance. Knowing this to be the case, having been a resident here some time, I have determined to supply this want m the shape of a weekly publication to be devoted to these districts ; and for this purpose, in older to ascertain the amount of support I might i-easonably expect, I would like to see as many gentlemen present as possible at a meeting to be held (with the permission of the master) at the School-house, Turakina, on THURSDAY NEXT, June 21st, at seven o’clock, when I will lay before them a statement of what I purpose doing, and hope then to elicit their approbation. Regretting being unable to personally canvass the districts, and trusting-I shall see a good attendance, I remain, Gentlemen, , Yours obediently, A. D. WILLIS. June'l6, 1866. F O UN D ON Monday last a small sum of money which will be returned to the owner on identification and payment of expenses. Apply at the office of this paper. June 16, 1866.
