Monday, 9th October, 1876. TAUPIRI BURIAL-GROUND. Mr. Nahe asked the Government, If the Government will give effect to the report of the Native Affairs Committee on the petition of Major te Wheoro ? He understood from the Native Minister that the G-overnment intended to consider this question. He had heard by telegram from Major te "Wheoro that two new houses had been erected on that sacred place. Mr. Richards on replied that the Government wished in every way to consult the views of the Natives in this matter, and, as far as it was practicable to comply with the recommendation contained in the report of the Native Affairs Committee, they would do so.
