DEATHS.
Ngahuruhuru, an aged chief of Ngatiwhakaue, at Ohinemutu, district of Rotorua, on the 28th. of October, 1874. His loss is deeply felt both by Pakehas and Maoris in that district, for he was a really good and upright old man. To the day of his death he was a loyal and resolute adherent of the Government. In the days when some of the tribes of the island involved themselves in trouble, he was one of the chiefs who arose among the Arawas to uphold the law of the land and support order.
