DEATHS.
Haora Tipa, chief of the Ngatipaoa tribe, at Whakatiwai Auckland, on the 25th of September, 1874. He was respected and valued by all who knew him, of both races, for his honesty and general integrity of character. Kaperiere Tamaiarohi, a Native Assessor of the Ngatipukeko and the Ngatiawa tribes, at Whakatane, on the 7th of September, 1874. He was a man of much influence amongst "i®. people. His last words were:— ,u Adieu, my friendsAbide by the law and the Queen. Commit no evil when I am gone.
