SPEED DEMANDED
IN PROVISION OF HOUSES FOR RETURNED MEN AUCKLAND R.S.A. PRESIDENT CRITICAL. ABSENCE OF GOVERNMENT PLANNING. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND,.This Day. To meet the needs of nearly 1000 married ex-service applicants for houses, the Auckland Rehabilitation Sub-Committee, for the latest fourweeks period, was provided with only two State houses' for allocation. Commenting .on the position, Mr. A. P. Postlewaite, R.S.A. president, who is a member of the committee, today said the youngest returned man from the present war could never live long enough to get a home unless the rate of allocation was greatly speeded up. He strongly criticised the absence of Government planning of manpower and materials, especially timber, and an inadequate training of tradesmen.
