ACUTE UNREST
REPORTED IN BULGARIA DENIED BY GERMANS. HEAVY REINFORCEMENTS POURED IN. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day. 12.20 p.m.) LONDON, May 24. Heavy German reinforcements are pouring into Bulgaria, with their headquarters established at Burgas. The Germans last night crossed the Bulgar-ian-Turkish frontier. The British United Press Berne correspondent quotes “an unimpeachable source” for this report. According to reports from Stockholm, a new pro-German Government has been installed in Bulgaria. The Germans deny that there is any crisis, but other reports tell of great tension in Bulgaria, with military patrols in the streets of Sofia. Prince Cyril, who refused Hitler’s summons to Berchtesgaden, has disappeared. Professor Filov, former Bulgarian Prime Minister, has flown to Berchtesgaden, following another summons from Hitler.
